Branding For Growth
I'm from Norway and the CEO and co-founder of a newly launched eCommerce company, Digby Duke. We sell high quality prescription glasses under our own brand. We're 3 founders who live in Norway and Singapore but our company is registered in the US.
So far we have launched our US and Singapore stores.
I started studying engineering at the University of Newcastle, UK, but after a year I decided it wasn't for me. Instead I ended up with a MSc in meteorology from University of Bergen, Norway, and have worked as an aviation, marine, and public weather forecaster in Copenhagen, Denmark and Wellington, New Zealand.
In 2003 I quit my career as a weather forecaster and moved back to Norway. Since then I have had various part time jobs as well as being an starting Digby Duke. I also work part time in a small animal vet clinic and look after the pet shop there because I love animals.
I am passionately interested in eCommerce and doing business development for my eCommerce store. And I'm owned by my two whippets, Emil and Digby. Digby is also our company mascot so why you will see lots of pics of hime sporting our glasses.
I love networking and building long term business relationships and friendships and having fun along the way. A professional but friendly and informal approach works for me. I'm rather anti-corporate, I must say. :)
A bit more about our glasses:
The glasses themselves are strong, stylish, super-lightweight and extremely comfortable to wear. The frames are made of lightweight TR90 plastic and once you have started wearing TR90 frames, you will never want to go back to the more stiff and heavy acetate plastic frames that other companies and brands sell.
The lenses are also the highest quality and comes with 100% UV protection, anti-scratch, anti-reflective and anti-fog coatings included. We also do progressive, tinted or transition lenses for the same price. With most other eyewear companies, like f.ex. Specsavers and Lensway, you have to pay extra for leans coatings and for progressive lenses.
With us, everything is included so the customer doesn't have to choose from a complicated lens menu or make price decisions. All the best is automatically included in one simple price.
We also have developed our own virtual try on tool so that customers can upload photos of themselves and try the frames on.
