An IT executive who manages business and technology projects; develops technology strategies to meet corporate requirements, and builds, motivates and leads technology teams.   I understand technology and know whether it is appropriate for use and can explain it to both my peers and executives. 


Business experience in acquisition due diligence, fund raising,  SOX compliance, continuous improvement, acquisition integration, business reorganizations, security, blockchain, and disaster recovery.   I am an expert at selecting the appropriate balance of manual systems, software and hardware to automate processes and enhance user functionality, while staying within budget and on time. I have a proven record as a decisive leader, manager and mentor and a consistent record of meeting and exceeding business objectives on time and within budget. I have worked with all levels of management and have been responsible for all strategic decisions regarding software design, implementation, production scheduling, and continuous improvement of system processes.


Previously as the CIO at US Gas and Electric. Responsible for managing and maintaining all systems including strategic planning, systems procurement, implementation of software applications, systems design and integration. Managed systems growth to support doubling of company size in each of the past four years from a startup to it's $500 million in sales with $30 million in EBTIDA. Member of Executive Team responsible for business strategy development and implementation, acquisitions, crisis management, and long-term planning. Managing a staff of 20 and 6 consultants.


As VP/CTO at MxEnergy, I have been responsible for all systems, strategic planning, and implementation of software applications, database environments, email, hardware platforms, Help desk support, LAN and WAN infrastructure, facilities and security.  I have implemented and integrated multiple CRM systems, a data warehouse, forecasting system, financial accounting system and a risk management system. I have planned, designed, adapted, debugged, and managed the implementation of these systems that supported the business strategy as company grew from one office with 4 people to 4 offices.  The company has grown to $1Billion dollars sales, 200 people and ½ million customers. During this period we have done 7 acquisitions.  The last one was of Shell Energy Services (a subsidiary of Shell Oil) and the company is now consolidating operating functions into the Houston office.


I have had other responsibilities at MxEnergy until we hired full time people for these key positions.

  • Managed HR – wrote first company handbook, managed benefits (medical and 401k), solved employee problems
  • Handled payroll –  for salaried and hourly employees
  • Managed facilities – opened new offices in CT, NJ and MD, managed the move of offices
  • Managed call center – this was during a crisis period


During my tenure at Bodine Corp, a manufacturing firm; I converted their manual engineering systems to CAD and implemented the first network and ERP system. I was responsible for all information processing systems including planning, budgeting, purchasing, contract negotiation, and outside services.  Part of the senior management team responsible for ISO 9000 certification, business continuity planning, and continuous improvement.  Projects included implementation of the database systems, Internet services, office automation, e-mail, and groupware applications, stand-alone manufacturing and engineering systems, PCs, attached network devices, and phone system.


Previously, I worked at Wellington systems where I was promoted to full partner.  I was responsible for IT management consulting and systems development.  We provided services to Fortune 500 and mid size companies. Most of the work that I managed was in the Energy, Financial, Treasury, Banking, Trading, Real-time Control, Inventory, Scheduling, Estimating, Profitability and Risk management, and Optimization Modeling areas..


I have my BA from Franklin and Marshall College and an MS in computer science from Stevens Institute of Technology.
