But I Don’t Know How to Network with People!

networking4

At a recent event, someone I hadn’t met before came up to me and asked me for advice on how to network. I was flattered that the person asked me and puzzled at the same time. I asked him why he wanted my advice. He told me that he was observing me and noticed how easy it seemed for me to meet people and start a conversation with them. He also mentioned that I looked calm, relaxed and sincerely interested in the person I was speaking with. That last comment caught my… Continue

Raised Toilet Seat

Who would imagine that something so simple as a raised toilet seat with handles could make my life so much better?

After spending ten days hoisting myself on and off the toilet, the raised toilet seat arrived yesterday. Ahhhhhhhhh!

It is so wonderful and my husband and son also love it. When you lose your mobility, you really appreciate the little things that make you more comfortable. When my ankle heals, I will never again take for granted being able bodied. This has really been a… Continue

I've Fallen and I've Broken My Ankle

Friday, October 16. Well, it's been a week since I slipped on a wet grate on a sidewalk in Evanston, IL on my way to get something healthy to eat and broke my left ankle. I won't be massaging anyone any time soon. I have been hopping around on my right leg with the use of the walker. Now, not only does my left ankle hurt, but so does my right buttock and my arms. I have learned how to get on and off the toilet using only one leg. My cleansing experience consists of my kneeling against the… Continue

The Exploitation of Social Media

1. Incorporate social media networking into a header or footer in your email template. You can keep it simple with a little link to your facebook fan page of your business twitter account; of you can make it quite complex and encourage sharing to Digg, Delicious or other… Continue

Larson note: I was a little surprised by the retail sales report for September as were a lot of people. I guess school supplies were really selling like hot cakes. That and consumer bowering going down will only help in the long run. But it is still… Continue

The Week Ahead Sept 21-25, 2009

Monday: Tuesday:

Wednesday: Consumer Credit, Treasury Budget

Thursday: Weekly initial jobless claims, Wholesale Inventories

Friday: Trade Balance

Larson note: I was ready this week. Auto sales drop, employment rate higher. Still I like what I and my people are hearing off the street. This week, don’t expect anything good report wise. We need inventories to keep low and I am not sure if they are low enough. My only suggestion is to pick your… Continue
