With so much discussion going on about quality versus quantity and strong ties versus weak ties, I thought it important to bring into the conversation the most important aspect in all business networking: profit.

In that the bottom line in linking with another is profit, the question of questions for networkers is what does it profit you to make a connection or hundreds or even thousands of connections?

Thus, I coined the term "Linkonomics" to cover the exploration of the economics of linking with one or more persons and how linking is monetized by social networking sites.
