African Americans care about more than just "African American" things.

You and I both know that it's easier for our over-worked minds to think about things which we can easily put into a box.

When things don't easily fit into a box, we can either:

1.) discard or disregard the things which don't easily fit into the box we've chosen for them or

2.) we can discard or disregard the box

As a man of African ancestry born in the Southern part of America many decades ago, it still amazes me to find otherwise alert men and women with a persistent "box mentality" trying to fit me and my intellectual appetites into "ill-fitting boxes".

But,for me, an African American, Southern born male, my curiosity has hungered for all-manner of things which don't easily fit into the *WEAK* boxes some have tried to pack me into...

Suffice it to say that one of my primary mantras is this: "African Americans care about more than just "African American" things."

What about you?

Is there a box which can fit you and all your intellectual interests into it?
