Linkedin: The Early Years

Vincent Wright,

My Linkedin Power Forum is a networking and discussion group about building professional social media networks at ultimate "networker speed". The operative word is speed, not carelessness. - Meaning, openness, not recklessness.

To maximize social networking power and to do so OPENLY - at networker speed - there are problems we must address:

#1. Don't build in the dark.

#2. Don't build without a vision.

#3. Don't build too fast NOR too slow.

#4. Don't build without a written plan.

#5. Don't build without profiting./p>

You can build at "networker speed" on "My Linkedin Power Forum", as long as you:

1. consider our 5 recommendations,
2. introduce yourself to the group,
3. DISCUSS your needs

I was fortunate to create and run a Yahoo-based group focused on Linkedin from February 2005-February 2012.
The group was originally called "My Linkedin Power Forum"...
Between February 2005 and September 2007, we were blessed to have Linkedin's founders as our members (Reid HoffmanKonstantin Guericke, etc.) as well as numerous Linkedin employees covering privacy, member issues, technical issues, and development|innovation, etc.

At its height between February 2005 and September 2007, 8-9,000 members of My Linkedin Power Forum were generating up to 1,700 discussion posts per month.
After 7 years of my running it, the group is now closed but, if you're doing research on the early years of Linkedin, you may wish to reference some of the 49,000+ messages in the archives of My Linkedin Power Forum at:
(FYI: www.MyLinkedinPowerForum.com now points to a subgroup on Brandergy.com)

Hello to all -- I look forward to sharing the results of my many years of working with executive leaders who have retained me to help them develop their leadership skills and the teams they lead. We have developed an extensive set of skills and knowledge regarding the use of virtual worlds as a business team communications tool and would welcome the opportunity to share that knowledge with others who wish to learn about these rapidly emerging communications platforms. I also welcome the opportunity to learn from others in the group as I get to know them.

I would like to be a Subject Matter Expert on LinkedIn - for business applications in particular. At Integrated Alliances, my company, we have a whole team of LinkedIn trainers around the US (10 markets) to serve local and national accounts. We are looking for more! Interested?

As perhaps the world's most experienced LinkedIn trainer (by far with 250+ group sessions), I have experienced more or everything. More Q&A, more unusual circumstances, more varieties of users, more..... and that gives me a much better understanding of the needs of LinkedIn users - at all levels.

We are on probably version 10.0 or so of our training curriculum as well and that means the best experience and the best possible outcome for customers. We now have 11 different versions/levels/types of LinkedIn training and more are being added every quarter.

Private LinkedIn training is the big deal now for us as companies realize they need to maximize use of LinkedIn and want an experienced expert to help them. I have 25 years of sales and marketing experience (in technology) and that blends nicely with our LinkedIn for Business training.
