Founder and President of The Prometheum invite you to connect on Linkedin

I am the founder, president and moderator of The Prometheum, a philosophical organization inspired by a group created by Benjamin Franklin in the 1700's. People in that era discussed and debated ideas that led to two of the greatest political documents ever written -The Declaration of Independence and The US Constitution. Today we are taught not to talk about sensitive or difficult issues. How do we know if we are correct in our analysis unless we hear, understand, and debate our ideas and…See More

About Me:
I am the founder, president and moderator of The Prometheum, a philosophical organization inspired by a group created by Benjamin Franklin in the 1700's. People in that era discussed and debated ideas that led to two of the greatest political documents ever written -The Declaration of Independence and The US Constitution. Today we are taught not to talk about sensitive or difficult issues. How do we know if we are correct in our analysis unless we hear, understand, and debate our ideas and philosophy with those on the other side? The Prometheum facilitates this exchange. It is an organization for the intellectually curious and for those who seek truth. The Prometheum operates on the premise that "Democracy Demands Debate, Discourse, and Discussion."

I have also started the Franklin Forum, a non-profit organization that brings “Prometheum” debate to high school students. It introduces students to the public discourse and helps them realize that there are different sides of an issue. It teaches them to listen and defend their ideas while building confidence and self-esteem. It places students in the arena of public debate amongst their peers and people from the community to discuss difficult political, societal, and constitutional issues. The agenda is to get students to think, to become good citizens because they are engaged, and to vote because they know for whom or for what they are voting.

I have extensive experience in moderating difficult topics, with participants ranging from teens to executives.

I have experience in the food business having created and manufactured a brand of Mexican food for the supermarket shelves and food service - Valley of Mexico.

My current project, Freedom Fish, is an aquaculture / aquaponics venture. It is sustainable, environmentally friendly, and it creates new jobs in the US that are returned from overseas. It will farm and produce food that is healthy, nutritious, and tastes good - the way food was meant to be!

The Prometheum

The Prometheum

The Prometheum is a fraternal organization, inspired by the Founders of The United States, whose mission is to foster debate, discussion, and the free exchange of ideas. It is an organization for the intellectually curious, for those who want to test their opinions and philosophy, hear and debate opposing views, and who are not afraid to evaluate and change their mind.

“Developed to fuel the flame of intellectual curiosity that burns within us, and to bring together those who desire to surround themselves with free thinkers from all fields of thought, so that they may expand their intellect, share their thoughts, cultivate their ideas, discuss their opinions, and enjoy the pursuit and attainment of knowledge for the benefit of themselves and of mankind.”

The Franklin Forum

The Franklin Forum is a high school program that encourages analytical thought and participation in the political process, both vital to a republic. It helps students gain an appreciation of our democratic and Constitutional principles while developing self-confidence, self esteem, respect for the opinion of others and the ability to effectively communicate their views. It is based on a simple premise, one clearly understood by our founding fathers – “Democracy Demands Discussion, Discourse, and Debate”.

A representative democracy needs citizens who discuss and evaluate issues and vote with an educated opinion. The Franklin Forum begins a process of participation in a democratic society at the most basic level - by encouraging involvement in the public discourse It places students in the arena of public debate amongst their peers and people from the community, allowing them to test their opinions and hear opposing views. All in a setting with a free and open exchange of ideas. Participation teaches civility in civil discourse, the ability to disagree and still be agreeable even in a passionate exchange of views. It leads to better students and better citizens who are more prepared to cast their vote.
