Hi all, I am international education consultant and scholar with over 15 years of experience specializing in the development, analysis and innovation in schools and education programs with a focus on mathematics in the United States and Carribean.
Much of my work has focused on helping school districts and communities across the Diaspora organize mathematics educational programs that empower teachers and are meaningful for all students, specifically students of African descent.
A motivational speaker for students, parent, administrator groups international, several recent talks have addressed conflicts between culture, global standards, Black masculinity and popular school design and practice. Currently a professor of mathematics education in at the College of Education at Georgia State University.
After seeing the part about you being a Mathematics professor, I felt compelled to send you a friend request. I avoided Math & Science like the plague in undergrad years ago. Now, as a Pre-Med student, I'm going to be up to my neck in it. But you know something. . .doesn't bother me a bit this time.
Welcome aboard, Lou. Make yourself at home and do let me know if I can be of help, ok?
By the way: Your introduction in the "About Me" section, just reminded me of one of my all time favorite books: "Mathematician's Delight" by W.W.W. Sawyer. It's not merely one of my favorite math books but one of my favorite books, period.
