Brainstorming Member Benefits

A group to discuss potential Member Benefits - for whatever group one belongs to.

Getting started

The potential benefits of group memberships are huge. The first one that comes to mind is Health Care. However, health insurance is governed at the state level and, therefore, is very difficult to offer across state lines, let alone country borders. Part of the reason for this group is to discuss what is available in terms of health, dental, vision, and other types of benefits.
However, it is also open to other "Member Benefits". Let's have a great brainstorming session on this topic. In this group, anything goes - with one exception... be civil.

Let's start listing benefits we'd like or have to offer.

I like the wish list idea - I have expertise in the legal/identity theft benefit arena & can provide access to those benefits very affordably - my main business is travel - and think that is an area where people are very interested in how to travel better for less & get the benefit of traveling like insiders to save $$$. last we can offer a FREE Aisle 19 membership so people can earn cash back at over 600 stores they are already shopping at anyway. look forward to seeing how this develops. let me know how I can help - if anyone wants the FREE aisle 19 membership now they can go to & contact me on how to maximize their membership & start saving & earning today!

Hi Paul, I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that it's not easy to govern because of the variances in the laws from state to state. I would say that its very easy! We have built a business on it. Please see our website ( We service some 700 clients which range from self-insured employers to foreign and domestic government entities. We provide the access to the same networks enjoyed by the Sagamores and BC/BS of the world without the price tag behind it. I do agree that across countries can be a challenge, but still doable. You have to think of the goal (effective care at a low cost), but strategized differently.

Paul I would be pleased to join the discussion since I do this for a living accepting that my expertise is US based. Even having said that I am working on a plan for people who use medical tourism for some healthcare needs.

For people not familiar with the concept, that is where people travel from thier country to another for a specific medical procedure. One study indicates that in 2010 up to 10 Million Americans will thravel to another country for medical services.

So how would you like to begin? Just throwing out ideas and options may get a bit chaotic. Perhaps we start with a wish list. In a perfect world what benefits would we all like to see? Then we all have something to work with.

Another alternative would be to create some educational pieces since most people at least here in the US know little or nothing about the insurance they have or need.

I am happy to participate. Please let me know how I can be of service.
