You're being added to lots of groups.

When your friends see that you're in a group, they're more inclined to join that group.

Thus, your friends *MAY* be joining groups which they think you *INTENTIONALLY* join.

BUT, YOU didn't join the group. Someone else added you to the group ... without your permission.

You may want to make sure you haven't been added to groups without your permission.

I wonder if teachers could help themselves, their students, and us grownups by putting together a Facebook/Social Media *PEACE* Syllabus?

Can you spot a FAKE Facebook profile?

If you love Facebook groups and you love your Facebook friends but, your Facebook friends don't love Facebook groups, don't ADD your friends to Facebook groups.  Rather, SHARE things FROM your Facebook groups ON your Facebook wall and your friends can see that content and decide their  reaction to what you share on your wall...

To me, blocking a person on Facebook merely says: "I'd like you to leave and I'd like for you to not come back ... EVEN if Facebook persists in recommending that we get back together, again."

SERIOUS WARNING ABOUT "THELMA":

1.) I just had an innocent-looking and attractive little old woman by the name of "Thelma" who reached out to connect with me on Facebook.

2.) Because her picture looked so familiar, I agreed to connect with her

3.) Within 1 minute of connecting with me, she inboxed me with one of THE MOST GOD-AWFUL OPENINGS SPAMMERS AND HACKERS USE: "hi" ...

It's a damnable thing to receive a "hi" message because either the person is a spammer, a hacker, OR, a BORE!

4.) Less than 2 minutes into the inbox conversation, I noticed that our common connection had gone from TWO to just ONE! and, finally,

5.) No sooner had I seen that than she started asking me if I'd heard about grants being given away ...

SEE???? It's Saturday morning and Facebook has NOT, NOT, NOT "become chargeable." ... (Why not DEMAND your friends stop sending such nonsense???)

On Saturday morning, Facebook will NOT, NOT, NOT "become chargeable."

AS FRIENDS, WE HAVE TO HELP keep each other SAFE!

We love Facebook because we can so quickly amplify the number of friends with whom we can share important, useful, uplifting information.

But, Facebook can help us stop loving Facebook and even life as soon as we realize how many "fake friends" and "fake profiles" and down right HARMFUL, DANGEROUS profiles we have among our thousands of friends.

If you have 5,000 friends and 1% of those are harmful, you have 50 unknown "people" who can harm you every day ... whether or not you log onto Facebook...

If you care about your friends, let them know when you see a fake profile among THEIR friends.

(Fake profiles are NOT impossible to see...)

This is not about "gossip".

This is about seeing profiles which you can verify are not to be trusted...

What is sharebaiting?

Scammers use sharebaiting to trick people into sharing content under the false premise that they will get something in return, such as being able to watch a video.
