OBSERVE Nature

#34: OBSERVE Nature.  NOTHING is more creative than Nature.  (Eg., Look at how Nature generates an acorn: A.) as smooth as possible on the bottom B.) but, with an overtly ornate cap immediately on top.

Excellent points!

Yes, Henry, I believe far too many of us are far too guilty of not turning to these kinds of creative strategies to help enliven our businesses (and, too, our personal lives...)

Unfortunately, I do not consult these strategies often enough, or more likely not at all.  But I rarely hit a block.  But I should probably look at these strategies for my path forward to financial success!

Oh, MAN!  Is this a WONDERFUL SURPRISE, Henry!  (I first became keenly interested in creativity circa 1973-74 upon getting addicted to Alex Osborn's "Your Creative Power")

In 1975 Brian Eno aka Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno, nglish musician, composer, record producer, singer, and visual artist, known as one of the principal innovators of ambient music along with Peter Schmidt (British artist, painter, theoretician of color and composition, pioneering multimedia exhibitor and an influential teacher at Watford College of Art) created a deck of 100 2.8 in × 3.5 in printed cards to overcome creativity obstacles.  The called this deck of cards Oblique Strategies (subtitled Over One Hundred Worthwhile Dilemmas).  The intent of the deck is to randomly select a card whenever you hit a creative roadblock.  There is a phrase on each card, e.g. "Think of the radio," "Ghost echoes," "A line has two sides," or "Go to an extreme, move back to a more comfortable place."  The phrases are so off the wall that they stimulate your thoughts enabling creativity.  There is even a blank card.  One of my favorites is "Make an exhaustive list of everything you might do and do the last thing on the list."  I purchased the deck in 1975, which I think is now quite collectable.  But with everything going digital you can get an app for your iPhone or Apple Watch.   Or for free you can go to this web site Oblique Strategies.

Ahhhh, the irreplicable symmetry of Nature (its breathing "looks" simple, its vision in trillions upon trillions of double eyed creatures may look simple but, try replicating it on such a massive scale as Nature does every day... (I predict we'll be respectfully bowing to Her for a long time into the future ... :-) ) )

Ah the simple symmetry of nature.

Did you know that the number of segments in a bamboo stalk are predetermined when it starts out as a shoot?  Basically the bamboo stalk just telescopes as it grow taller.

My pleasure, Jessan ... (but, with all that's happening here, I'd advise against "catching up".  Rather, just #DanceOn (as a wise woman once advised!))

#KeepSTRONG, Jessan...

Your  purpose isn't to dream. Your purpose is to create. (Dreaming is self-centered. Creating is us-centered.) DREAM! Then, CREATE!!!
