Cloud computing is a key resource for smaller businesses and organizations that need access to scale without paying the brunt of costs for scaling their own infrastructure.

Hi, Mike,

At the moment, participation is light... I would guess that that's because we're all a bit busy - and, indeed, trying to catch up/get ahead on the New Year...however, I'm sure that they'd all appreciate any posts you make via this comment wall, discussions directly on the group, or messages to all group members...(of course, let me know if I can help you with the management of the group...)

Participation in this forum seems to be pretty light.  What is everyone thinking out there?  Any grand predictions for cloud computing in 2012?  Will security in the cloud make strides?  Too many issues around security to adequately list here, but what about access security?  Network security?  What about insider threats from a rogue sys admin within your cloud provider?

I'm planning to be at the upcoming Cloud Connect event at the Santa Clara Convention Center Feb. 13-16 and at the RSA Cloud Security Alliance summit in late February in San Francisco.  Anyone else planning to attend?

Hi Marie -

Its not that anyone is eliminating art dealers, houses, artists, etc per se....more like the market hasn't been realized by entrepreneurs. Other platforms have been built in the cloud because the market size is large enough earn a healthy return on the costs incurred to build such a platform.

Hi Marie - I don't know of any systems specifically for Art Collection Inventory but if the market is large enough, there may be a company / consultant out there who may try to build one.

Can you give me some pointers to current software platforms for reference?

OK. In that case, perhaps, we can get one of the more senior Cloud professionals here to address your question. I'd recommend that you reach out to someone like Guy Whitcroft or Thomas Lidforss. Please check out some of their insights below...

Marie - What type of features are you looking for in a cloud computing offering? I know quite a few of the players and might be able to point you in the right direction.
